Meet your tutor
Hi, I'm Nora
I've spent 15 years in the classroom helping K–8 students find their confidence and love of learning. Now I bring that same energy to one-on-one virtual sessions.
Credential
Master's in Education
My story
I started my teaching career in a public elementary school and quickly realized that every child learns differently. Some kids just need a little more time, a different explanation, or someone who truly believes in them — and that's exactly what I set out to provide.
After earning my Master's in Education, I deepened my focus on literacy and numeracy development for early and middle-grade learners. Over 15 years in the classroom, I've worked with students across a wide range of learning styles, backgrounds, and ability levels.
As a General Education teacher, I'm comfortable across all core K–8 subjects — math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. I started The Study Nest to give families access to personalized, high-quality tutoring in a warm, low-pressure environment. Whether your child is struggling to keep up or ready to get ahead, I'll meet them exactly where they are.
My teaching philosophy
Start with strengths
Every child has something they're good at. I build on those strengths to create momentum and confidence.
Targeted practice
No busywork. Every session is focused on the specific skills your child needs to grow right now.
Open communication
I keep parents in the loop after every session so you always know how your child is progressing.
Make it enjoyable
Learning sticks when kids are engaged. I use games, stories, and real-world examples to keep sessions fun.
